Want to Read cinematogrphy. As a Director of Photography specializing in features and commercials, he is now based in Los Angeles. Brown has found a way to mix art and tech together in a way that allows the reader to easily absorb a very technical field.

While some aspects of visual language, lighting and color are eternal, shooting methods, workflow and cameras have changed radically.

Definitely interesting when you’re in the business or at least already know somethings about it. In addition, references in the text to diagrams or pictures sometimes use prctice wrong identifying number.

Really awesome book on the various duties of the DP! If I had found this book before going to film school, I think I would have second guessed whether or not I needed to go.
