Of all ethnographies I have read to date, this was the most valuable in terms of culture preservation and respect for indigenous peoples.
I think I would have liked it a lot more if this book was written differently. Sustained by traditions, access to land and waterways, and a keen sense of humor and vitality, Gebusi exhibit resilience and dignity amid conditions of continuing uncertainty and change.
